Competition/Game

Submitted by susan on Thu, 2006-01-26 14:27.

Ok, so this is an ad.  But the game bit is fun!

(let the ad run then figure out the game.  BTW this is not a puzzle game - it's memory and reflexes)

Try it

You could miss out..

.. so hurry up!

The following is about the FSANZ consumer liaison committee, which I discussed some time back on foodie.tv news.

Check it out and see if you could be a valuable voice on the food regulatory scene:

    Dear FSANZ Subscriber

This is a reminder that applications to be a member of FSANZ’s Consumer Liaison Committee, first advertised in December 2005, close in one week’s time on 1 February 2006. There is more information about this committee on our website here.

Planned menu attempt: Final day

Ohhh!!  I wrote a wonderful blog post but it disappeared!

I am bereft.  It can't come back and I don't have the heart to try.

Planned menu attempt: Day 3

Submitted by susan on Tue, 2006-01-24 09:12.
This went more to plan.  Euge was even more impressed by the Gimson Nyonya sauce than the last time he had it (on fish).

Spicy hot, with a galangal, lime leaf and lime juice hit, and more.  I'll have to be careful not to use it on everything!

Check out how much egg there is *grin*

Alright..I confess - there were these 4 eggs I had to finish...

Planned menu attempt: Day 2

Submitted by susan on Mon, 2006-01-23 10:46.

Hah. Like I could stick to plan.  Right!

But I was close :-)  It's practically what I planned.

Grilled sun-dried tomato chicken with rice and snow pea shoots (Plan)  was meant to be a piece of grilled chicken, stir-fried shoots on the side and a rice timbale (maybe - or instead, a mound of rice with something colourful mixed through).

But, it just looked wrong.  Plan B: sliced chicken breast on rice with snowpea shoots stir fried with garlic sauce.

What a great start!

(NB Recommend to play this list in reverse order)

Wow,  love the intro to this... try it please!

24/1/06 - 12:30am - just finished the game... this is the best thing yet from JayIsGames, even Euge is impressed.

Next stop: A case of the crabs

24-1-06 - done! Now: Brain Hotel (different hero)

Thinking about CNY

Submitted by susan on Sun, 2006-01-22 08:28.
Wow, Chinese New Year is so close!

I stumbled across this while researching CNY stuff on Kuali and just had to add it to my blog.  Sad to hear that these sweets are disappearing - I have at least two firm favourites on that list!

Another 40 + degree day and out of season decisions

Submitted by susan on Sun, 2006-01-22 05:32.
Hmm... 41 deg. C currently, 28 tomorrow, then 27 and 33 to get us to Wednesday.

For awhile now I've been battling a baffling lack of motivation to cook.  Don't know why though :-(

The hot weather also means that this is not a particularly great time to find the road home, so to speak, but then this foodie obsession has never participated in the logical processes that I try to follow in other areas *grin*

So this is why I'm currently sitting in air-conditioning (a lovely 23-25 deg C?)  contemplating what to make for the next 4 dinners or so.

Sorry about the total silence!

Actually, I've been enjoying a lot of mum's cooking lately which could have been a lot of good material for foodie.tv!  I didn't get any photos though but must say Mum has put a good effort in over the last week, particularly with the two kinds of kwai teow that we had last night.

Euge declared (and I agree) that it's the best kwai teow that we've tasted in Australia and beats the restaurant versions hands down.

Sad for all of you who may not have the chance to enjoy such cooking :-)

Anyway, one of the reasons I've not been blogging as much is the  flash games I've been playing.  Particularly the 3Wish and EyeMaze games...I mean, you gotta try them out.

Watching violent/scary dvd's

Submitted by susan on Sat, 2006-01-07 06:06.

Last night: White Noise.  Can I recommend that you don't watch it unless you're happy for your subconcious to be scarred for the rest of your life?  Of course, if you're into horror movies then this is tame fare so go on ahead.

Not me though.

So I was playing - correction - trying to play Dark Room last night.  Sheesh.  Someday I'll get somewhere with that, but not just yet.

Anyway,  this afternoon was The Last Samurai.  And, for the gory bits, I tried 3Wish's selection.

Much more manageable..so may I recommend them to you, dear readers: Click
